| Q: | Who will see my CV? |
| A: | When you create your resume you'll choose a CV Status, which determines who can see your CV. You have three choices.
|
| Q: | What's the difference between a public and a private CV? |
| A: | If you select private as your CV status, your CV will not be seen by employers conducting CV searches (but you can still use your private CV to apply for specific jobs online). If you select a CV status of public, employers will be able to view your CV and match you to their available jobs. |
| Q: | How do I block companies from seeing my CV? |
| A: | You can prevent certain companies from seeing your public CV on Tunneljobs.com (you can block up to 20 companies). This feature is helpful if you don't want your current employer to find your CV. Once you create and post your public CV, go to the Preferences section found at the top of each page and select Blocked Companies. Choose the company (or companies) you want to block. Your CV will not be visible to them. |
| Q: | What if I can't find the company I'm looking for? |
| A: | Make sure the company name is spelled correctly. If the spelling is correct, this company may not be associated with Tunneljobs.com. Some employers may post jobs on Tunneljobs.com, but they do not have access to Tunneljobs.com database of public CVs. Only companies with active Tunneljobs.com CV search access are available to be blocked. Your company search results will consist of the top (up to 40) matching company names. If you don't find the company you're searching for, keep checking the search companies page. We add new companies daily. |
| Q: | Will companies be blocked immediately? |
| A: | It can take 2 to 4 hours to block a company from finding your public CV. If you're concerned that a blocked company might find your public CV during that time, set your CV to private for a few hours. After 4 hours or so, change your CV back to public. Your blocked companies will be blocked and other employers will see your CV. |
| Q: | Can I be sure a blocked company won't see my CV? |
| A: | Tunneljobs.com cannot guarantee that a blocked company can always be prevented from seeing your public CV. For example, a company could receive your CV from a recruiter or other third party. Also, if a company has multiple variations of its name, you may be unable to block all variations because of restrictions on how many employer listings you can block at one time (20 maximum). |
| Q: | What are CV Views? |
| A: | Your CV Views indicates the number of times your CV has been viewed by employers. Employers can view your CV as a result of a CV search (if your CV status is public) and when you use the CV to apply online. In both cases, each time an employer makes a request to view your CV, your CV view number increases. (Tunneljobs.com does not track who views your CV, only the number of times a CV view is requested). |
| Q: | How can I increase my CV views? |
| A: | The most effective way to increase your CV views is to set your CV status to public. This will make your CV visible to employers who conduct CV searches. If your CV is public and you still feel your views are low, try including more words relevant to your target job. When employers search for CVs, they enter keywords that match the background needed for a job. For keyword ideas, look at sample job titles and descriptions to see what words employers are using in their job postings. Also, be specific with the title of your public resume. An accurate title will make your CV stand out. |
| Q: | Who is viewing my CV? |
| A: | Tunneljobs.com does not track who views your CV, only the number of times a CV view is requested by an employer. Employers can view your CV when they conduct a CV search (if your CV status is public) and when you use the CV to apply online. In both cases, each time an employer makes a request to view your CV, your CV view number increases |
| Q: | What happens when I delete a CV? |
| A: | If you delete a CV, it will be permanently deleted and irretrievable, except for an archive copy that Tunneljobs.com is required by federal regulation to maintain for a period of up to two years. If you delete a CV that you used to apply online for a job or that was searchable, employers, recruiters, and others who have paid for access to the Tunneljobs.com CV database, or have paid to obtain a copy of that database, as well as parties who have otherwise gained access, may have retained a copy of your CV in their own files or databases. Tunneljobs.com is not responsible for the retention, use, or privacy of CVs in these instances. |
| Q: | How can I set contact preference to both phone and email? |
| A: | If you select a contact preference, you must choose either phone or email. Making this choice indicates only a primary preference. Your preference will not prevent an employer from contacting you using an alternative method. If you do not want to indicate a contact preference, leave this selection blank. |
